Citizenship Bill: BJP's 'Weak' Defence?

Does the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016 violate India's Constitution? The bill changes the definition of illegal migrants by amending the Citizenship Act, 1955 to provide citizenship to illegal migrants, from Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Pakistan, who are Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, Parsi or Christian. However, the Act doesn't have a provision for Muslims. Many see this not just as unconstitutional, but as a clear attempt to mitigate the potential damage to the BJP's Hindu vote bank in the light of the National Register of Citizens.
