Maharashtra Grapples With Farmer Suicides

Over 12,000 farmers have killed themselves in Maharashtra in the last four years - that's eight farmers a day on an average. Even as Tamil Nadu is also going through a drought situation, in its capital Chennai, 40 per cent of piped drinking water supply has been shut.
